Students at the University of Central Florida are demanding real food.  They want honesty, they want eats.  They want some Honest Eats in their dining halls.  Their movement sprung out of our very own Southeast Youth Food Activist Summit earlier this month at the University of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  RFC was lucky enough to meet students like Sarah Benjamin, one of the leaders of the campaign.

I was lucky enough to visit UCF last October, where I spoke with students at Florida Powershift.  I was amazed by the incredible energy and passion our deep Southern counterparts possess, ready to embody the word, “activist”.  Our Floridian friends are so committed, in fact, several of the students in attendance at the workshops I led flew north to UNC for SYFAS 2010, with the addition of several more from UCF.  These students are empowered, passionate, and ready to act to spread the youth movement for just and sustainable food.

Awesome! Way to go UCF. Wish I the weather would have been better for your anniversary. I really wanted to take a look around again and get some work done.

    Good luck!
